Chad Houk is a fourth-year doctoral student at Baylor, finishing a degree in church music with an emphasis in composition. Chad is an alumnus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in piano performance (2002) and a master’s degree in piano pedagogy (2006). Before entering his studies at Baylor, he pursued a career as a professional accompanist in and around Lincoln, Nebraska, working both at Doane University, where he was a member of the adjunct music faculty, and at Pius X High School, where he served as staff accompanist and co-director in the vocal and instrumental music programs. Currently, Chad is serving as an accompanist for the Baylor Theater Department, but he plans to pursue full-time academic work in music upon his graduation from Baylor.
