Alex Stahl (she/her) is a MFA Directing Candidate at Baylor University. Alex is originally from Houston, but has spent the last decade in Phoenix, AZ. With a strong foundation in the arts, she holds a B.A. in Theatre from Arizona State University. Additionally, Alex holds an M.Ed in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University, which has equipped her with valuable teaching skills that she brings to her directorial approach.
Throughout the past 8 years, Alex has been deeply involved in the world of secondary education, both directing and teaching with remarkable success. Her commitment to nurturing young talent has borne fruit, as her students have earned accolades and recognition at competitions across the nation. This dedication to empowering the next generation of theatre artists reflects her belief in the transformative power of the performing arts.
Among her credits, Alex recently directed "Cry It Out" by Molly Smith Metzler, captivating audiences on the Baylor Mainstage with her insightful and evocative vision. Her artistic portfolio also boasts successful productions of "Newsies," "Clue," "Bright Star," and "Twelfth Night," each showcasing her versatility as a director across various genres.
As an active member of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE), Alex is deeply engaged in the advancement of theatre education and seeks to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the field. Her passion for teaching and directing has driven her aspirations, and she envisions a career path that includes teaching and mentoring future theatre educators or serving as the education director for a prominent theatre company.
